STEP 1: Read the following
Things you need to know:
- This site is not compatible with Internet Explorer. It will work fine with any other major modern web browser, however.
- You must create a new account for yourself before you can log in. If you are renewing, your old login information from the old website will not work.
- If you are renewing, it will look like you’re signing up for a new membership. Do not worry – we can tell in the background you’re an existing member and know you’re just renewing.
- If you are purchasing a membership for another member as well, you must log out between purchases. Once you have logged out, the system is ready to accept another sign-up.
- Each account requires a unique email address (i.e. – that email address cannot have been used for another member).
STEP 2: Watch the instructional video below
This short video gives a tour of the signup process and will answer many of the questions you may have.
We strongly encourage you to watch this before going on.
STEP 3: Review the FAQs below
The following section contains the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) members have asked.
We strongly encourage you to review these.
I'm trying to renew online. Why can't I sign into the portal?
Answer: This is because you haven’t created an account yet. All members, new and renewing, are required to create a new account using the Purchase buttons below before they will be able to log into the member portal.
Why does it look like I'm registering for a new membership? I'm just trying to renew.
Answer: The way it works this year, it looks a lot like you’re signing up fresh. We’re getting you to re-enter your information from scratch, but in the background we know that as an existing member you’re just renewing.
It's telling me my postal code is wrong ("Incomplete postal code"). It's not wrong though - I've double-checked over and over. What is happening?
I'm renewing. What's the deadline to get my renewal in?
Answer: Memberships follow the calendar year and, as such, are active until December 31. If you have not renewed before then, your membership will deactivate on January 1, as will your scan card for the gate and all of the other benefits of membership like third party liability insurance and being part of the AFGA. As soon as you renew though, that will all resume. To prevent an interruption, ensure you renew before the end of the year.
Why do I have to do this online? Can't you just send me a form like always?
Answer: Manual processing using forms is an expensive undertaking. It benefits everyone in the club if we can process as many renewals and new membership signups online as possible. We encourage you to do this here on the website if at possible.
When completing my purchase, why won't it accept a password, no matter what I type?
Why do I have to enter an email address for my kids? I don't know if I'm comfortable with that.
The purpose of this is to be able to contact our youth members and their parents to make them aware of youth events and youth programs we’re planning. This would only be for club use and is mainly intended for kids 14-16 and older, but only if you’re comfortable with that. If you’re not comfortable (which we completely understand) simply enter “firstname.lastname@example.org” in this field instead.
I purchased a membership for myself, and then purchased a membership for someone else. Why did that mess things up?
Answer: You must log out between purchases. Once you have logged out, the system is ready to accept another sign-up. Also, each account requires a unique email address for the primary account member. If you have run into this problem, we’ll have to reset the account and you’ll have to re-do the second purchase. Please contact us at email@example.com and include details of the memberships you were trying to purchase if this is the case.
When will 2020 membership cards be coming out?
Answer: With the new website, our membership cards will be changing. We’ll be using new ID numbers, which you’ll get on your new card. We will be sending these new cards out to you at the beginning of January.
Will renewing members be getting new magnetic gate cards as well?
Answer: No, the magnetic gate cards will remain the same & will work the same as always, even with the new security system. When you enter your information during the renewal process, we’ll connect your new entry with your current magnetic gate card.
I made an error entering my spouse/child's information. How do I fix it?
Answer: If you entered a valid email address for that family member, they will receive a link to log in with. (Please note: if they try to log in on the same computer as you, make sure you log out first). They can edit much of their own data, but not their birth date. If you did not supply a valid email for them or if the error is with their birth date, we’ll have to correct the information for you. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and include details of the information that needs changing.
I just finished renewing and I see the link for the orientation. Do I have re-do the orientation too?
Answer: If you’re renewing, it’s optional for you at this point. You can if you’d like to, as it’s a good review, but it’s not something you have to do. If you’re signing up for a new membership, it’s mandatory.
I have trouble with computers and would really just like a manual form. How can I get one?
Answer: Manual processing is significantly time consuming and costly to the club. We encourage all members to process their application via the website using the instructions above. For those truly unable to do so, we will be making manual forms available, by request only, during the week of December 9. To request a renewal form, please call the office at (780) 467-0085 on or after December 9. Please be aware that due to people being out of the office in the second half of December, processing of these forms may be delayed until early January 2020.
