Campground

Q: Can I reserve a campsite?

A: No, campsites are first come first serve, they are unable to be reserved for use. The tent/camper in your site must not be unattended for more than 24 hours. Campers are required to sign-in/sign-out at the Campsite Kiosk.

Q: How long can I stay?

A: Members may stay in the campground for a maximum of seven consecutive evenings. After your seventh evening, you must remove your tent/camper for a minimum of 24 hours before returning.

Q: Is there firewood?

A: Firewood is provided for use at no charge. Firewood may be found in the shed is on the campground loop. Volunteer effort goes into the provision of this wood, so please be respectful in your use. Do not remove this wood from the facility.

Q: Can I have non-member guests in my campsite?

A: Yes, non-member family or friends may enjoy your campsite with you. However, overnight camping is restricted to SPFGA members. Guests are not permitted to remain onsite overnight.

Fish Pond

Q: Can adults use the fish pond too?

A: Yes, absolutely. The purpose of the SPFGA fish pond is the introduction of members of all ages to angling. Children in the pond area must be under the supervision of a responsible adult.

Q: What kinds of lures can I use?

A: Angling in the fish pond is restricted to the use of single barbless hooks.

Q: Can I keep the fish I catch?

A: No, the fish pond is catch-and-release only.

Firearms Ranges

Q: What can I use for targets on the rifle and pistol ranges?

A: Targets must be soft/paper based and be affixed to SPFGA-supplied target backers. Acceptable soft (i.e. non-metal) targets may be used on the 50m Range, and must be hung from the provided supports.

Q: Are there limitations on what I can use as targets?

A: All metallic targets except those provided by SPFGA are prohibited. On the Rimfire Range, downward deflecting spinners may be used when placed inside a steel shroud. In addition, unacceptable targets include:

  • photographs or likenesses of actual persons, whether living or dead
  • clays, balloons, plastic
  • fruits, vegetables or other food stuff
  • explosive targets.
Q: Can I bring my own steel gongs?

A: No, all metallic targets except those provided by SPFGA are prohibited.

Q: Is the use of human silhouette targets target permitted?

A: Yes, human silhouette targets such as the IPSC Metric or even zombie targets are allowed. Photos or likenesses of actual people are expressly forbidden, however.
