Our weekly trap series runs from the beginning of May to the end of August, run using the electronic thrower on:
- Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
- Sunday afternoons beginning at 12 noon
Cost: Cost to participate is $5 per round (25 clays) for adults and $3 for youth under 18 (cash only please). You supply your own shells – one box of 25 shells per round.
Shot size: #7.5 or 8
Equipment: Your shotgun will be fine to shoot with – nothing special is required. Twelve gauge is standard for trap, but smaller gauges are fine though they do increase the challenge.
Match details: Each round, five members shoot at a time, with a round typically taking 10-20 minutes. For information on how trap games are played, refer to the Amateur Trapshooting Association website.
Events are drop-in, with no registration or RSVP necessary. Simply sign the waiver when you arrive & you’re ready to go. Events are run solely for fun and the only person you’re trying to beat is you & your best score. There’s always someone to explain the rules and the course of fire to newcomers, and to give tips and even a little informal coaching from time to time.
