July 30, 2023
SPFGA Outdoor Woman’s Program
A walk in the forest and introductory archery
The clubhouse & area are booked all day for this event.
Archery range & 3D Trail are booked 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. They are available for use prior to and following this booking.
Developed to fulfill our mission, vision, and objectives and to provide participants with direct hands-on experience, this program will develop a woman’s outdoor-related skills and confidence, build a connection with nature and Canada’s rich conservation heritage of hunting, angling, and trapping.
Through a safe and comfortable learning environment, the SPFGA Outdoor Women’s Program will be comprised of five sessions in 2023. The first of these sessions will be a guided walk in the forest and an introduction to archery on Sunday, July 30, 2023 starting at 9:00 a.m.
In the morning, Len Peleshok, naturalist and Wildlife Technician extraordinaire, will lead a walk down the hiking trails looking for wildlife and signs of their presence.
After a light lunch, participants will receive instruction on archery form and technique by archery enthusiast Cody MacDonald and our own Don Brockway. Some practice shooting and a game or two at the archery range will follow, finishing out this learning-filled day with a walk down the 3D Archery Trail to shoot at our 3D targets, ending at 3:00 p.m.
No worries if you do not have archery equipment though, as we will have bows, arrows, and arm guards for participants without them.
