Overnight Camping at the SPFGA – Open to Everyone
Overnight Camping
The SPFGA Outdoor Woman’s Program (OWP) was developed to provide enriching educational experiences and engaging activities, all within a supportive and inclusive environment. Our goal is to empower people by offering a diverse range of activities, fostering a deep connection with nature, while cultivating skills that contribute to conservation efforts and the enjoyment of outdoor pursuits.
This overnight camping session will be led by Colleen and Dale Kiselyk, owners and instructors of Nature Alive Adventures. Colleen and Dale will introduce session participants to bushcraft skills, animal tracking, knife skills and carving, ropes and knots, and uses of plants. If Beaver County hasn’t declared a fire ban, participants will be taught fire lighting methods and campfire cooking. In the evening, expect socializing and enjoying the campfire and nature crafting.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own survival kits, cool gadgets, and favourite survival kit items. SPFGA will lend participants knives and ferro rods. Participants will stay in tents behind the clubhouse that are provided by the SPFGA but you can bring your own tent if you prefer.
Please note: the clubhouse & surrounding area are booked exclusively during the duration of this session.
