SPFGA Outdoor Woman’s Program – Bushcraft and Wilderness Living Skills (Clubhouse)
The Sherwood Park Fish and Game Association Outdoor Women’s Program was developed to provide enriching educational experiences and engaging activities, all within a supportive and inclusive environment. Our goal is to empower women by offering a diverse range of activities, fostering a deep connection with nature, while cultivating skills that contribute to conservation efforts and the enjoyment of outdoor pursuits.
This program will consist of a series of sessions through the spring, summer, and fall of 2025, each focused on providing a direct hands-on experience with a different aspect of Canada’s rich cultural heritage of hunting, angling, trapping and the shooting sports.
Bushcraft & Wilderness Living Skills will be led by Colleen and Dale Kiselyk, owners and instructors of Nature Alive Adventures, on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Colleen and Dale will introduce session participants to bushcraft, the art of firecraft, animal tracking, knife skills and carving, ropes and knots, plant uses, and campfire cooking systems.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own survival kits, cool gadgets, and favourite survival kit items to the day. SPFGA will lend participants knives and ferro rods. Nature Alive Adventures will supply all the other materials, so participants only need to bring their interest in bushcraft and wilderness living skills.
