Our September session is entitled “Exploring the richness of biodiversity through monitoring“.

There are few concepts as big and complex as “biodiversity.” Biodiversity is the variety of life on Earth at all its levels — from genes to ecosystems. Biodiversity includes all the species of insects, wildlife, and plants that form natural ecosystems upon which we all rely. Monitoring biodiversity requires advanced data collection and analysis techniques ranging from sample collection, environmental sensors, to planes in the air.

Join this session to learn about how the Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institue (ABMI) monitors biodiversity in Alberta and some of the latest advances in technology, including a hands-on experience with some of its wildlife protocols.
