Cowboy Action – 50m Range
May 10, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) consists of using three different types of guns: single action handguns, lever-action pistol caliber rifles, and shotguns (either double barrel or pump action with external hammer, Winchester model 1897 only), in various courses of fire which are not revealed until the day of the practice.
A typical CAS shooting stage could consist of hitting up to ten pistol targets, cranking out eight to ten rounds from your rifle and then wrapping up by engaging steel targets with your shotgun. What it all adds up to, is a whole lot of fun!
If you require more detailed information on CAS as a sport, please visit the Single Action Shooters Society’s website: https://www.sassnet.com
The SPFGA CAS group meets on Tuesday evenings during the warmer months of the year, weather permitting, on the 50m Range. If you’re interested in having a look or trying it out, come out and join us!
If you have questions, contact Bernie Engel of the SPFGA CAS group by email: slimworks@shaw.ca
(Bernie informs us that if you’re out at the facility and its 5 pm or afterward on Tuesdays and the CAS group isn’t set up and running to please consider the range open for general use, as this means they won’t be out that night.)
