Canadian Firearms Safety Course (PAL) – Clubhouse
April 6 @ 7:45 am - 6:00 pm
Have you, a friend, or a family member been wanting to get your firearms licence?
Well, you’re in luck! Adriel Michaud, SPFGA member, aka The Hunting Gear Guy, will be teaching CFSC (PAL) courses at the clubhouse on several dates throughout 2024:
April 6
April 20
May 12
June 1 (this date has changed)
July 20
August 10
September 7
October 12
The Canadian Firearms Safety Course is the course all first-time firearms licence applicants must complete in order to apply for their Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL). Having a PAL is necessary to buy or own firearms or ammunition in Canada. Following the in-class instruction, you will do a written and practical test.
Minimum attendance age
Anyone 12 years of age or older can take the CFSC. A minor between 12 and 17 years old completing the CFSC is able to apply for a Minor’s Licence, which would allow them to borrow and use non-restricted firearms. Children under 12 can take the course, but only for educational purposes. They will not do the written or practical exams.
Location and times
Each session will be held on the dates above at the clubhouse at the facility from 7:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sessions will start at 7:45 a.m. sharp, so plan to arrive a little early.
Breaks
Adriel will break for lunch mid-day. Lunch will not be provided, so please plan to bring your own food and refreshments.
Class size limit
Each session is limited to twelve attendees and is expected to fill up fast, so don’t wait to register!
Course rate
SPFGA members, friends, and family qualify for a discounted course rate of $140.
