Bushcraft and Wilderness Living Skills (Clubhouse)
Through outdoor education, we aim to foster responsible environmental stewardship and a deeper connection to nature. Research shows that time spent outdoors improves mental well-being, cognitive function, and problem-solving skills, while enriching overall quality of life. This program promotes ecological literacy and conservation-minded values, which are key to addressing today’s environmental challenges.
This Bushcraft and Wilderness Living Skills will be led by Colleen and Dale Kiselyk, owners and instructors of Nature Alive Adventures, on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Colleen and Dale will introduce session participants of all ages to bushcraft, the art of firecraft, animal tracking, knife skills and carving, ropes and knots, plant uses, and campfire cooking systems.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own survival kits, cool gadgets, and favourite survival kit items to the day. SPFGA will lend participants knives and ferro rods. Nature Alive Adventures will supply all the other materials, so participants only need to bring their interest in bushcraft and wilderness living skills.
