The SPFGA Monday night .22 Rimfire Silhouette Shoots is continuing in August!
Please note: Due to the level of interest, we ask that you RSVP (see below)
Based on the success and positive experience with this event in July, we will be continuing into August. Join us at the Rimfire Range on Monday nights in August 5:30-8 p.m. for an all-ages, family-friendly & fun evening of rimfire silhouette shooting.
What is it?
Rimfire silhouette is a great way to inexpensively practice the fundamentals of marksmanship and involves shooting from the standing unsupported position at four sets of metal silhouettes:
- 10 chickens at 40 m
- 10 pigs at 60 m
- 10 turkeys at 77 m
- 10 rams at 100 m
One round is fired at each target. If the target falls down, it’s counted as a hit. The more hits you get, the more you’re improving as a shooter.
Where is it held?
We’ve moved to the Overflow Range in order to accommodate the number of shooters.
What do I need?
All that’s required is a .22 rimfire rifle (only .22 short, long and LR for these shoots please), 40 rounds of .22 rimfire ammo, and hearing & eye protection. Any optics are permitted, so scope or open sights are fine. If you don’t have a .22 rimfire rifle but want to give it a try, come out anyway! A loaner rifle and ammunition will be available.
Is there anything that’s not permitted?
Only .22 short, long and LR for these shoots will be used for these shoots. For safety and equipment durability reasons, other rimfire cartridges such as .22 LR high velocity or .22 WMR are not permitted. Likewise, despite this being held on the Overflow Range, this is still a rimfire competition and no centerfire ammo is permitted.
How do I sign up?
Please RSVP to email@example.com if you’re planning to attend any of the nights. There has been an exceptional level of interest and we want to be sure we have the capacity for everyone who would like to attend:
Monday, August 6 5:30 -8:00 p.m.
Monday, August 13 5:30 -8:00 p.m.
Monday, August 20 5:30 -8:00 p.m.
Monday, August 27 5:30 -8:00 p.m.
Looking forward to seeing you out on the range in August!
